Who We Are
We are a small community, in connection with Konya and the Uluslararası Mevlâna Vakfı (UMV). Our postnişîn - Yıldırım Ekin - received his icâzet in 2015, from Farûk Hemdem Çelebi (22nd-generation descendant of Hz. Mevlânâ Rûmî), to represent the Mevlevi path in the Netherlands.
Our vision is to offer a path of love, silence, and adab blossoming here in the Netherlands, as it has for centuries in other parts of the world, rooted in the Qur’an, the Sunnah, and the living heritage of Hz. Mevlânâ Rûmî.
Yet it is not about titles or positions.
We prefer to see ourselves as servants: fellow travelers on the path, each with a role, in sohbet, in music, in hizmet.
The root of our tradition lies in Konya, where Hz. Mevlânâ Rûmî spoke his words and nourished his companions. From that source the way flowed into Anatolia, to Europe, and eventually to the Netherlands.
We do not invent something new, but strive to be a bridge: letting the fragrance of the ancient way breathe in our time and place.
Our lineage: from Konya to here
We gather in a simple space. Not a grand building, but a house of silence and sound. A place where Qur’an is recited, where the ney breathes, where words from the Masnavî fall like rain upon the heart.
All who enter are welcomed, not by outward splendour, but by the warmth of companionship.
Our space
All that we do, we try to do with safety, inclusivity, and adab:
Safety: what is shared in the circle remains in trust.
Inclusivity: the door is open to seekers from many walks of life.
Service: each contributes through a task, a song, a quiet prayer.
Thus the way is carried together, step by step, with usûl and adab.
